Glyphosate is by far the most heavily used chemical weed killer in human history. It’s so pervasive, it’s difficult to avoid ingesting it on a daily basis. Researchers have found glyphosate residue in food, tap water, rainwater, and rivers, and in urine and breast milk.
Independent testing on an array of popular American food products found many samples contained residue levels of the weed killer called glyphosate, leading the nonprofit organization behind the testing to call for corporate and regulatory action to address consumer safety concerns.
Hyderbad: A report by the State Food Laboratory (SFL) at Nacharam released on Tuesday declared that genetically engineered (GE) food samples, collected by the GHMC food control officers, were prohibited and unsafe. The labelling on a product of General Mills, called Chocolate Cheerios, proclaimed that it contained GE food ingredients, said the laboratory’s chief public analyst N Ravindra.
